Why are women not into firearms?
There a few women that I know of that like guns. Like my mother, she has 2 guns that I gave her and she can shoot better than me. The amount of women that are into firearms, hunting, and shooting sports is a minority. I am having trouble understanding why the majority of women are not into guns, hunting, or shooting sports. Sometimes I am afraid to talk to the ladies about my favorite hobby: shooting and collecting guns. They seem to freak out when I speak about my hobby. They ask me if I am a violent and insecure individual. These ladies I talk to see gun ownership as a sign of weakness or a red flag when it comes to establishing a relationship. Maybe I am talking to the wrong kind of women, liberal women. By the way, I live in Texas.
Why are most modern women not into guns, hunting, and shooting sports?
maybe its just because they that that its a man who should only be able to use firearms.

Why isn’t guys into playing with dolls and wearing high heals?
Men and women think differently and enjoy different things. Sure you have examples of women sharing our love of firearms but by and large most women could careless.

OH! but they are,one helps me refinish stocks and shoots, but the grind of bird hunting is too much.Likes to car hunt for deer in Pennsylvania, not much for waiting on a stand and will not consider drives, which I like to make with the Guys from Lost Creek Pa. it’s my generation or the region?? Look to the hunting pages Jennifer are you for real? I know Annie Oakleaf is, I’m a fan of them both, read some of their postings,as an answer. Maybe all you have out there is "Yellow Roses",in Texas.

Hello!!!???
You don’t remember me? Rapid reaction gun training, CCP/CCL, NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course, Personal Protection Outside The Home Course, Firearm Safety Course, Marksman (woman) A class according to IDPA classification – speed and accuracy top of my class.
Proud owner of a .357 Magnum, P229, Glock 26 .40, S&W .44 Magnum, Beretta 89 and a Para GI45.
I have loved guns since i was about 12 years old, taught by my father and followed by quite a few training courses. I am still feminine and soft spoken, but my heart pounds faster as soon as i get to the range.
I believe it’s all a matter of how your FATHER raised you as a girl. If your father taught you that guns are something to be afraid of or that they are only used by thugs then your premise might be okay. I am teaching my 9 year old all i know about guns and that it’s not the gun you have to worry about but the safety with which it is carried that matters.
Don’t let them know about your hobby until you are comfortable with each other. IF that certain lady knows you as a person first then she might feel more comfortable with your passion. Besides, remember a good gunman should not talk much about what he can do.

Because guns are so expensive to purchase.
They don’t have anywhere to shoot them.
They are usually heavy to hold.
Women like to nurture and guns are meant to kill.
No one teaches them how to use them.
Guys seem to want to have guns all to themselves.
I know one guy who has quite a few guns, even though he knows I am interested in them, he has never shown them to me. I would love to shoot them sometime and he knows it, I have told him, but he never says anything about it when we are together. Do I have to bring up the subject over and over? My husband was there at the time and he got to see it and he don’t care beans about guns.
Even the time he showed his wife’s gun when we were there, I was not in the room. So you tell me what is going on. All he tells me is when I want to purchase one, hold several types and get the one that feels the most comfortable in my hand.
I don’t think guys like to talk about guns to women, it’s kind of a guy thing subject that they keep among themselves. Try to save your gun talk till you get to know them better. Women want to know you, not your guns.

Women don’t have to be "in" guns to own or believe in them for self-defense.
Two years-ago I was required to take a concealed pistol course for a non-resident permit from a New England sate almost half the class was women.
From a hobby perspective I just don’t think firearms and hunting is as appealing to women as it is for men. My wife has hobbies that I find bewildering.
On a second note I don’t volunteer that I am a gun owner to most individuals I meet or acquaintances. Honestly, don’t want the unwanted attention for many reasons. The only people I discuss firearms with is immediate family and close friends who share similar interests.

Since the dawn of man, man has been the provider and protector. Most women only become aggressive when it comes to protecting their children.
A firearm is no different than a rock, a spear or any other weapon. It takes a certain drive to be interested in weapons that men have and most women do not. It is part of our culture.

You’re in Texas, and can’t find women who like to shoot? The apocalypse is, indeed, nigh.
A big part of the problem may be the attitudes of many of the gun "experts" who push women toward ineffective little pea-shooters like .25 and .32 Autos.
