'Stunned' Driver Fined For Blowing His Nose?
A motorist has told of his disbelief at being fined for blowing his nose while his vehicle was at a standstill.
Defiant: Mr Mancini says he will fight the fine all the way to court. Pic: Scottish Sun
Michael Mancini had stopped his van in traffic and wiped his nose with a handkerchief.
When he moved off, he was pulled over by police who told him he had not been in control of his vehicle.
Mr Mancini, from Ayrshire, was handed a ?60 fixed penalty and given three points on his driving licence.
He told Sky News: "I thought they were joking and that it was a wind-up.
"I was stopped in traffic and had the handbrake on and thought to myself, ‘Ive just got time to blow my nose.’
"Then police pulled me over and I was booked. I genuinely thought they were joking, that it was a wind-up."
I still don’t believe it actually happened

The incident occurred in October, but Mr Mancini has refused to pay the penalty.
His solicitor wrote to prosecutors earlier this month explaining the offence could not have occurred because Mr Mancini’s handbrake was on.
But prosecutors replied the next day warning that if the fine wasn’t paid, the case would be taken to court.
Mr Mancini added: "I intend taking this all the way to court. I still don’t believe it actually happened."
A Strathclyde Police spokesman said: "A 39-year-old man is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal in connection with an alleged traffic offence on October 26
Please read the links before making comment. Do you feel the driver is right or wrong and should he simply pay up for committing a driving offence? Clearing ones nose is a normal body function.
You may feel the Police officer was doing his job or there are more important offences that the police officer should be dealing with. Do you feel this officer is damaging the police in the eyes of the public?

Gremlin. If you feel we live in a police state you are not very wordly?
Sorry Gremlin the above was meant for stromboli the magician.
Some officers, like non officers, don’t have any common sense.
This is a case of an over zealous officer, and a stupid prosecutor being out of control.

Anything that inhibits a driver from being alert is illegal behind the wheel.

This is the same police officer who issued a fixed penalty fine for dropping litter to another man who accidentally dropped a ?10 note on the street

The law never ceases to astound me. How many times do you see drivers being interviewed, and looking at the camera, on T.V. while driving a vehicle ( including police ) and yet this appears to be quite acceptable as nothing is ever done about it!
