Baader Meinhof Complex, The
Baader Meinhof Complex, The (2008)

IMDB rating: 7.40

Plot: Germany in the 1970s: Murderous bomb attacks, the threat of terrorism and the fear of the enemy inside are rocking the very foundations of the yet fragile German democracy. The radicalised children of the Nazi generation lead by Andreas Baader, Ulrike Meinhof and Gudrun Ensslin are fighting a violent war against what they perceive as the new face of fascism: American imperialism supported by the German establishment, many of whom have a Nazi past. Their aim is to create a more human society but by employing inhuman means they not only spread terror and bloodshed, they also lose their own humanity. The man who understands them is also their hunter: the head of the German police force Horst Herold. And while he succeeds in his relentless pursuit of the young terrorists, he knows he’s only dealing with the tip of the iceberg.

what are the top 10 best sci fi movies?
hi i would like to know what your top 10 sci fi movies are
i don’t really mean like ghosts or demons but like travailing to different worlds … umm aliens .. umm element powers…ummm strange stuff happening to the world(((((when i say elements not like super hero movies i.e, superman))))))) weird stuff like that but i really dislike paranormal activity movies
some of my fav. are sci fi, mystery

i also like anime (Japanese cartoons) they have some really cool ones..

like one sci fi i saw recently was called "city of ember",also "district 9" that was a good one so was "doomsday"

PS: im a complete sci fi geek =P
well anything thats not about ghosts or demons

I would say these, however, you’re really limiting it because they’re a lot of sci-fi movies that aren’t ‘out of this world.’

Also, some of these movies are part of a series, so I will include the series as a whole. Some of these aren’t ‘out of this world,’ but this is my list.

Alien (I’d include Aliens as well, but not the other sequels).
Star Trek (I personally like part 2 and part 6, as well as the new one that’s the re-load)
Enemy Mine
Star Wars (obviously, part 3, 4, and 6 are my favorites)
Stargate
Planet of the apes (the original)
Blade Runner *NUMBER ONE FOR SURE*
Terminator
The matrix
The Thing
Generico | Jan 23, 2010

If you like both sci fi and anime then watch the movie Akira, its awesome.
Along with the matrix series there is also the Animatrix, which is basically anime set in the matrix world occurring long before the movies take place.

District 9

Back To The Future

Sorry all i can think of at the moment
Miss[E]x | Jan 23, 2010

I honestly haven’t seen all that many, and I’ve yet to see a lot of the acclaimed stuff like 2001: A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner, but here are the 10 best I’ve seen:

1. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006)
2. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984)
3. Metropolis (1927)
4. The Iron Giant (1999)
5. Star Wars (I’m just gonna count the series as one so that I can add more)
6. Treasure Planet (2001)
7. A Trip to the Moon (1902)
8. Tron (1982)
9. City of Ember (2008)
10. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (2005)

Also, Westworld (1973) and Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001) were really cool.

(Looking back) I guess I’m not sure having four animated movies in my top six really does a lot to validate my opinion on such topics :)
valley_dweller | Jan 23, 2010

I don’t know if in this order exactly, but these 10 … ok 25 movies are awesome:

The Philadelphia Experiment
Children of Men
Dark City

Terminator (the sequel is even better
Blade Runner

NYY123 | Jan 24, 2010

A Scanner Darkly. Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, Robert Downey Jr. There’s no way you could do anything but love it.
The Day The Earth Stood Still. Keanu Reeves. It really changed the way I view a lot of things. Like, the entire human race.
The Matrix. Keanu Reeves. The first one is best. Don’t waste your time with the Animatrix. My brain dissolved and melted out my eyes when I saw it.
The Astronaut’s Wife. Johnny Depp comes back from space with an alien inside of him.
Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home. Undoubtedly the best Star Trek movie ever.
Planet Terror, Shaun of the Dead. If you like great zombie films.
Avatar. I saw it a couple hours ago; it blew my mind. The most beautiful movie I’ve ever seen.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The Invasion is the newest remake.
Powder. Sean Patrick Flannery plays a beyond-genius albino kid with electrolosis powerz. Just pure amazing.
2012. Surprisingly good.
The Core. AMAZING.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide To the Galaxy. Read the book because it’s waaaay better.

As for anime, I suggest Princess Monanoke, My Neighbor Totoro, and Spirited Away. My friend really liked Kiki’s Delivery Service and Castle in the Sky, which I have yet to watch. I’m a huge Pokemon fan.

The Greatest Wrestling Questions Eeeeever Asked.?
Okay so I’m going to ask you to chose between 2 different choices, and really think about it before answering, alright have fun!

1)if you could chose only one of these wrestlers to be allowed in to the WWE Hall Of Fame.

*Ultimate Warrior or *Macho Man

2)who was the better "big man?"

*Bam Bam Bigalow or *The Big Show

3)if you could have an actual genuine real wrestling belt, which would you prefer

*WWE Championship (Spinner) or *The World Heavyweight Championship

4)who would you rather party with?

*The Horsemen in 1986 or *The nWo in 1996

5)which Dream Match would you prefer (all wrestlers are in their prime)

*Hulk Hogan (80’s) vs Stone Cold (90’s) or *Bret Hart (90’s) vs Kurt Angle (00’s)

1. Macho Man – He has had more impacting feuds and classic matches than Warrior.

2. Bam Bam Bigalow – He’s probably one of the best big man wrestlers to live.

3. World Heavyweight Championship – It’s a classic and simple design.

4. Horsemen – Greatest faction of all time. Wouldn’t even think twice to party with Flair.

5. Bret Hart vs. Kurt Angle – A clash of two of the greats of technical wrestling.

Can I get into Boston University?
I’m wondering if getting into Boston University would be a long shot for me, considering my gpa and my semester grades so far.

I’ve got a 3.4 gpa as of now, and i’m a junior

I’m taking 2 AP classes, AP u.s. history and AP psychology along with other honors classes, but my grades have been slipping a little bit, my semester averages for my classes are a little low (I’ve got C+ for 3 of them, and Bs and As for the rest). I’ve got another semester this year, and then senior year to make up for it though.

On my most recent SAT i got a 2350, and on the ACT i got a 28.

I’m in national honors society, and spanish honors society.

I’m in two charity clubs: key club and interact club, and I also volunteer at my local hospital.

I’m president of the youth group councel at my church.

I’m on the varsity team for track and field at my school, and in my freshman and sophomore year I’ve also played volleyball.

I work at Polo Ralph Lauren in the mall.

Again, I’m hoping to balance out my gpa by improving my grades, so I’ll have at least a 3.5~3.6 by the end of my senior year. I’m wondering if they’ll consider my course load while looking at my first semester grades this year.

My classes are as follows.

Honors English 11
Spanish 4
AP U.S. History
Chemistry
Pre Calculus
AP Psychology
Semeter1: Creative Writing
Semester 2: Philosophy

Im interested in becoming a doctor, and the corresponding classes for that have been going well for me until this year, now that my semester average for pre cal is a 78%, which is my lowest average, and my semester average for chem is a 79%. However, my grades in bio have been straight As.

If i bring my semster averages up, would I have a chance of getting in?

Go to the following free service offered by College Board. On the lower right side is a button "How do I stack up?" Enter your personal information and see what comes out.

You are probably okay, with that SAT score.

However, do not put all your hopes in one school. Admissions sometimes are cruel.
Use the College Matchmaker, 2d web address below, enter your personal information and apply to at least three schools that are accepting students with your qualifications, in addition to BU.
