What do you think of my poem "Forbidden"?
Forbidden

rain pours down in a lonely place,
silence forever,
tears down my face,
unknown hate falls across my eyes,
pain is plain,
what a disgrace,
wind blows fury across the land,
i sit here waiting,
feeling doomed and trapped,
thunder sounds,
the earth quakes,
i feel my heart – my soul break,
i feel alone like never before,
from only being wanted,
i wish i were nevermore,
i fall into an endless black,
forever crying,
wanting to turn back,
flowers wilt,
endless guilt,
why do i feel this way,
the clouds of grey that fill my mind,
the sky,
leave me confused and dazed,
a flicker of light shines in the night,
a small ray of hope,
a dream,
never could it be,
for me,
i fall to my knees,
wanting to hide,
wanting to be held,
sun shines upon me warming my face,
blushing grows,
my innocence knows,
it is time,
the ray of hope begins to waver,
fading away,
darkness grows,
i really don’t know,
shyness falls across my face,
only i know,
maybe i should go,
or should i?

Stunning,,,,
You told a story in each line
The flow in it was so beautifully told,
Precise
There was nothing wasted
( and since when can’t you use the word I, that’s new to me )

The title? Staggering,,,perfect,,,, I always get stuck on titles,
and use a line, phrase from the poem.
I really enjoyed the concept that your title was a word not found in your poem.

Lola | Nov 18, 2009

you should use better adj. and never say "i feel" or use "i". use metaphors.instead of saying "i fall into an endless black" you should say "falling into an endless black". write it so the reader can relate to you. its pretty good though.

I think your poem is really good :] I imagine it like an empty place that has something special about it… great job!

omg wow i think this is really good. hah im no professional writer but i do wanna say that my poems are good and yours are like 10x better than mine. my life isnt always the best so mine are like about cutting, being depressed, hating parents and stuff like that but i really do like yours. keep writing and keep up the good work!

Oh my! You know I utterly hate poems like these. The bore me, and I can’t stand reading then wat. So. Ever! But guess what?!

Your poem made me stay reading it, I live for poems like these. Thank you for that lovely poem for me to read.
Magic Eight Ball | Nov 17, 2009

Using ‘I’ is fine in poetry. The above person is wrong.

You paint a picture of misery, but it feels trite. Your expression is not new, not fresh. Forever the wordsmith’s purpose is to create a novel way of expression.

Keep at it. You have potential!

This poem is so full of emotion its brilliant in my opinion its almost a definition of depression and hopelessness. Great job!

It doesn’t have to belong to you, but a horse you know, own, ride, or have in the past. I’m just bored and curious :)
Mine:

Name:Petie
Gender: Gelding
Breed/color: Chestnut appaloosa
Age:7
Height: 16hh (approx.)
Relationship: I take lessons on him and will hopefully get to lease him soon, maybe even buy him someday :D
About Petie:
He is oober green, but has the best personality. I just love him. I also love that he is a very challenging horse to ride, because I don’t get bored. He is totally a western horse, and I am going to train him to do western pleasure and trail classes, and maybe even some hus and/or eq us. We also work on some natural horsemanship stuff and do a lot of exercises like turn on the haunches, collection, bending, etc.

So yeah, thats mine, whats yours?

Well, my favorite horse, is my horse.
He’s a gelding overo paint, 14.2 hands tall. He’s a beauty!

Name: Willy
Gender: gelding
breed: fresian mix
color: blood bay
age: 18 (about)
height: 17 something hh
relationship: when i was in the 3rd grade i saw him for the first time from across the field (first horse i’d ever seen i’d ridden ponies before but never seen a horse) wanted to give him a carrot and a family friend went owned him. went over and whimped out (he was huge and i was tiny) i was just visiting the state then. the next year we moved near and i went to see him more as i started to like horses (my grandparents lived across the street from the owners and where he was kept) i started learning about horses and messed around with him (turned out the giant horse i was scared of was the gentlest horse i have ever come in contact with) his owner got busy and never came to see him (he was stabled on her parents land who are old and can’t get out to see him either) so i was asked to groom him, feed him and tell them when he needed a vet/farrier.
About Willy: turned out the horse i was terrified of and me and my cousin fought over who got the half of the carrot with the leaves still on it to hold onto was the best horse ever and after years of spending time and caring for him he hasn’t been ridden in 10 years i just randomly lay across his back and hop on and he does nothing, my younger cousin who doesn’t see him alot tried and he just stepped away. i am the only one he allows in the field without being nervous and i have gone to him for everything even wearing heels and pouring rain or 90 degrees and barefoot and jump in and swing up. i’m the only one he lets on his back. (but i never ride him the years before i met him he was abused so badly that he will never be ridden

Registered Name: Peppy Dell Snickers
Show Name: Tickle My Fancy
Barn Name: Snickers
Gender: Mare
Breed/Color: Quarter Horse (and her father and grandfather were paints).
here’s pictures of her if you want to see her:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/39821419@N0 6/sets/72157622349479093/
Age: 15
Height: 14.1 hh
Relationship: I’ve owned her for two years now and absolutly love her! she’s the best girl I could ever ask for!
About Snickers:
She is sooo sweet. she will give hugs and she will care for you if something happens. she’s sweet with people of all ages. she does get grumpy when she’s pmsing but other than that she’s a pretty good girl. she does have many medical issues such as a history of lameness (but hasn’t been lame in a year! it’s a merical – knock on wood), authritis, sore muscles at times, is allergic to basically everything (grass, hay, most feeds etcccc) and much more but she doesn’t really show many signs of pain… i ride her 2-3 times a week. she could be trained in western, but i ride her in english and i don’t have a western saddle. when she was little she used to do sliding (she would gallop down steep hills and do a dead jolt – she has the marks on her legs and is amazing at stoping and going). i ride english hunter (long stirrup). i only showed one season but we got 5th place in long stirrup with only 6 shows! i haven’t showed since then (i broke my arm and my mom doesn’t really like waking up early). now we just do lessons twice-three times a week and i ride her sometimes like just do walking and trotting excersizes other days… i do take her on trails for there are amazing trails, but not as much as i should. she is really great with basically everything. she’s not toooo great where you can’t learn from her for she will teach you things (she taught me fly lead changes, how to release, lead changes in general and muchhh more) and she will test you to see if you’re good enough after awhile – she knows when she gets bored of doing the same things she will then test you. she’s just a pretty great horse and i love her soooooooo much <3 she’s my dream/soul horse!

Stories:
one time i was in the field at her old barn and i hadn’t even known her for 6 months. well i went out in the field to give her an apple and they were testing to see how she was with this one pony (she doesn’t like many other horses because of past experiences.) and so i fed her the apple and i went to go feed the other horse the apple and just as i walked over to the horse, the horse took off galloping toward me. my pony charged and pushed the horse out of the way in time for me to get saved…. and i’d bearly known her.

also another time, well i don’t do very well when i have water during a lesson (had to find that out the hard way). and so of course i had water this one lesson and toward the end i started getting the WORST cramp and reflux. i hardly ever get cramps and i’m used to reflux, but this was really bad… so i got off like 5-10 mins early and my friend helped me untack since my pony’s fat and likes to suck in her breath and i had to hold my hand on my stumach to keep from hurling. so we put her blanket and muzzle on and i started walking to the field. usually, she gets all quick, alert and excited because she loves her new friends. but when she saw that i didn’t look too good, she walked so quietly with me. then she took a step sideways to give me enough room (and enough to catch me if i fell lol) and she turned her head to look at me the whole time. then she stopped at the gate and waited patiently without eating grass (which i sometimes have to tell her not to… usually she doesn’t go for it but when she’s really impatient she does) so then i opened the gate and put the lead rope under my hand since i had to keep hold of my stumach and pushed the gate open. then i walked her in quietly and we turned around. she stood there so quietly and then i gave her a pet and she gave me a hug! and she looked at me with the CUTEST look i’d ever seen. and then i closed the gate and let her off the lead. and usually she runs away but this time i walked back to the barn and she stayed at the gate looking at me until i made it to the steps where my friend was! it was the cutest thing i had ever seen….

sorry for writing so much

Breed/Color: Thoroughbred and Dark Bay
Age: 10
Height: 16.3 and leggy
Relationship: I lease him and I love him to death.

About Branam:
He is my life! We compete in shows placed 4th in eq. only riding him in 4 shows! He has ALOT of attitude, but I thinks thats what I love most. He is currently injured =(. Torn Muscle. Branam has been amazing for me. He is very powerful and is a great boy. When he first came to my barn he was head-shy. Now he lets you rub his ears and everything. I love him so much.

Name: Wranglers Waltz, a.k.a. Wrangler
Gender: Gelding
Breed: Quarter Horse Appendix
Color: dark bay, he’s registered as brown
Age: 13
Height: 17.2
Relationship: he’s mine (: I’ve owned him for 3 and a half years
About Wrangler:
He’s had a rough past, he was totally misunderstood and people thought he was plain crazy when he was really scared. He also has vision problems and can’t see real well. He trusts me though, and we work really well together. He’s been a pain in the butt, but I love him and wouldn’t trade him for anything. He needs me just as much as I need him. (:

And, 2nd place… (: lol

Name: B Grand Blue, a.k.a. Chisel
Gender: Gelding
Breed: solid Paint
Color: registered as black, I consider him dark bay
Age: 10
Height: 17
Relationship: he’s mine! I started leasing him 5 years ago, stopped when I got Wrangler and then bought him after that. I’ve owned him for 2 years.
About Chisel:
He can be ridden by anyone, but in order to do his best he needs his main rider. For basic stuff he’s a great lesson horse, but otherwise he’s a one-rider horse. He doesn’t perform well for a number of riders because he gets used to one style and sticks to it. He’s used to me riding him so even other advanced riders can’t get him to do things as well as I can. He’s a textbook all around horse, he can and has done it all, and he does everything really well. He’s an awesome horse with the best personality ever. (:

How Fast is Obama turning America PURE RED?
In less than a year of Obama, New Jersey, a deep deep BLUE state… was turned RED

and Virginia, a so called "purple" state was also turned back to bright RED

At this rate, the map should be looking pretty darn RED by next year – and yet Obama keeps accelerating his ultra liberal left wing agenda anyway…

How fast will Obama destroy the DNC?

He already has and it will show loud and clear in less than a year from now on Midterm election day.

I liked Obama a year ago and I probably would have voted for him had I been old enough at the time.

HOWEVER………I will NOT vote for him in 2012.

He turned me from blue to purple…….But I’m turning red day by day.
GoArmy | Nov 30, 2009

Neither candidate was that great in the Jersey race. Jersey has a history of going the other way, partly evidenced by CTW during the 90s. As you said Va is purple as is so no huge shock there. The other 2 elections went blue, btw. You people amaze me pretending you are kreskin and can predict these things based on 0 evidence. At the least you’re ignorant of the facts and history and at worst you’re purposely intellectually dishonest to think this past election is a reflection of anything other than jobs, cycles, and local economies.

What do Germans think…?
Of some Americans evoking images of Hitler to describe a president they don’t like? I think Germany outlawed the flippant use of WWII imagery in order to protect the gravity of the terrible event. Do you think they think we’re insensitive, stupid or what?

I believe that most Europeans think that we are stupid in general. Since we are a democracy, I would have to agree with them; clearly the majority of americans are stupid quite frankly.

Lackey + Cameron + Scutaro = WS | Dec 17, 2009

Charlie Manuel…runner-up manager of the year? Huh…that’s surprising to me. How was Mike Scioscia overlooked?

Executive of the year should have gone to Cashman. Amaro, Jr. took the World Series champs and brought them back. Cashman took a team that missed the playoffs and turned them into World Series champions.

Also, I’m a Red Sox fan, but I highly doubt Jacoby was the best defensive player of the year. If he were the best defensive player of the year, then why are the Sox considering moving him to left field and placing Cameron in center? Your best defensive outfielder should be playing center.

Oh, and can we please stop it with the Dewayne Wise catch? Some people are actually claiming that it was, like, the best defensive play ever. Stop it. It was a nice little catch that on any other night would have been worth a web gem and nothing more. Come on, people.

I agree except Charlie Manuel should be replaced by the Manager of the Yankees. He had to take a bunch of new players and mold them with players from the Torre regime. Jimmy Rollins doesn’t deserve to be in category of postseason moment of the year. He did have that great hit against the Dodgers, but he messed up by opening his mouth saying the Phillies would win in 5 games against the Yankees. He put his foot in his mouth. Jacoby Ellsbury as defensive player of year is insane He does have great speed but his arm is lousy.

What are some of your favorites?

Just one of mine was a sleepy little movie called ‘How To Make An American Quilt’ with Winona Ryder, Maya Angelou, Kate Capshaw & Jean Simons. It started out in a way that made me think it would be pretty hokey, but as the histories unfolded it just sucked me right in!

What are some of yours?

If the overwhelming majority of poverty/hunger relief wasn't Gov. sponsored with our tax dollars…?
Could people be relied upon to contribute of their own accord? Or would we just spend that extra money that didn’t go to taxes on ourselves?

It’s funny how many people are under the false impression that charity is being VOLUNTARILY bankrolled by individual members of the public rather than MANDATORILY bankrolled with the taxes we all MUST pay.

(I ask this here because there was a person making the assumption that atheists are less charitable than people of religious persuasion. My view is that individually none of us are very charitable.)
Morganie- Wrong. You only want to believe what you want. You have no desire to hear the truth if conflicts with your claustrophobic world view. The facts don’t lie, but you do.
Funny how Morganie rants and raves about "bloated bureaucracy" and then gladly gives her church tithing in the firm belief that every red cent is going to charity. ON THE ROCK you as well.

Dig a little deeper and you will find private contributions often outstrip government contributions (in the USA at least) for poverty and disaster relief.

This fact is ironic considering that we’ve already had our income stripped from us by our bloated do-nothing government beurocracy, yet we Americans still reach into our pockets deeper to *actually* help the poor.

People who make sweeping assertions like that are plainly too immature to deal with.
Bearcub | Dec 16, 2009

Your view is incorrect. Atheists are less charitable. Deal with it
Atheists are even more powerless | Dec 16, 2009

Your name is most appropriate, many of us are very charitable. Christain here.
paducahbill | Dec 16, 2009

Do you have statistics showing how much the government sponsors poverty/hunger relief? The question really is then, since that is apparently not enough, who is picking up the slack. I see a lot of religious groups providing charity. I give 10% of my income (in addition to the taxes I pay the govt) to help others. I think your view that individually none of us are very charitable, is completely unfounded as I know a large number of people who are. You just sound like another cynic who uses their twisted view to justify their lack of action.
