Describe your favorite horse!?
It doesn’t have to belong to you, but a horse you know, own, ride, or have in the past. I’m just bored and curious
Mine:
Name:Petie
Gender: Gelding
Breed/color: Chestnut appaloosa
Age:7
Height: 16hh (approx.)
Relationship: I take lessons on him and will hopefully get to lease him soon, maybe even buy him someday
About Petie:
He is oober green, but has the best personality. I just love him. I also love that he is a very challenging horse to ride, because I don’t get bored. He is totally a western horse, and I am going to train him to do western pleasure and trail classes, and maybe even some hus and/or eq us. We also work on some natural horsemanship stuff and do a lot of exercises like turn on the haunches, collection, bending, etc.
So yeah, thats mine, whats yours?
Well, my favorite horse, is my horse.
He’s a gelding overo paint, 14.2 hands tall. He’s a beauty!

Name: Willy
Gender: gelding
breed: fresian mix
color: blood bay
age: 18 (about)
height: 17 something hh
relationship: when i was in the 3rd grade i saw him for the first time from across the field (first horse i’d ever seen i’d ridden ponies before but never seen a horse) wanted to give him a carrot and a family friend went owned him. went over and whimped out (he was huge and i was tiny) i was just visiting the state then. the next year we moved near and i went to see him more as i started to like horses (my grandparents lived across the street from the owners and where he was kept) i started learning about horses and messed around with him (turned out the giant horse i was scared of was the gentlest horse i have ever come in contact with) his owner got busy and never came to see him (he was stabled on her parents land who are old and can’t get out to see him either) so i was asked to groom him, feed him and tell them when he needed a vet/farrier.
About Willy: turned out the horse i was terrified of and me and my cousin fought over who got the half of the carrot with the leaves still on it to hold onto was the best horse ever and after years of spending time and caring for him he hasn’t been ridden in 10 years i just randomly lay across his back and hop on and he does nothing, my younger cousin who doesn’t see him alot tried and he just stepped away. i am the only one he allows in the field without being nervous and i have gone to him for everything even wearing heels and pouring rain or 90 degrees and barefoot and jump in and swing up. i’m the only one he lets on his back. (but i never ride him the years before i met him he was abused so badly that he will never be ridden

Registered Name: Peppy Dell Snickers
Show Name: Tickle My Fancy
Barn Name: Snickers
Gender: Mare
Breed/Color: Quarter Horse (and her father and grandfather were paints).
here’s pictures of her if you want to see her:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/39821419@N0 6/sets/72157622349479093/
Age: 15
Height: 14.1 hh
Relationship: I’ve owned her for two years now and absolutly love her! she’s the best girl I could ever ask for!
About Snickers:
She is sooo sweet. she will give hugs and she will care for you if something happens. she’s sweet with people of all ages. she does get grumpy when she’s pmsing but other than that she’s a pretty good girl. she does have many medical issues such as a history of lameness (but hasn’t been lame in a year! it’s a merical – knock on wood), authritis, sore muscles at times, is allergic to basically everything (grass, hay, most feeds etcccc) and much more but she doesn’t really show many signs of pain… i ride her 2-3 times a week. she could be trained in western, but i ride her in english and i don’t have a western saddle. when she was little she used to do sliding (she would gallop down steep hills and do a dead jolt – she has the marks on her legs and is amazing at stoping and going). i ride english hunter (long stirrup). i only showed one season but we got 5th place in long stirrup with only 6 shows! i haven’t showed since then (i broke my arm and my mom doesn’t really like waking up early). now we just do lessons twice-three times a week and i ride her sometimes like just do walking and trotting excersizes other days… i do take her on trails for there are amazing trails, but not as much as i should. she is really great with basically everything. she’s not toooo great where you can’t learn from her for she will teach you things (she taught me fly lead changes, how to release, lead changes in general and muchhh more) and she will test you to see if you’re good enough after awhile – she knows when she gets bored of doing the same things she will then test you. she’s just a pretty great horse and i love her soooooooo much <3 she’s my dream/soul horse!
Stories:
one time i was in the field at her old barn and i hadn’t even known her for 6 months. well i went out in the field to give her an apple and they were testing to see how she was with this one pony (she doesn’t like many other horses because of past experiences.) and so i fed her the apple and i went to go feed the other horse the apple and just as i walked over to the horse, the horse took off galloping toward me. my pony charged and pushed the horse out of the way in time for me to get saved…. and i’d bearly known her.
also another time, well i don’t do very well when i have water during a lesson (had to find that out the hard way). and so of course i had water this one lesson and toward the end i started getting the WORST cramp and reflux. i hardly ever get cramps and i’m used to reflux, but this was really bad… so i got off like 5-10 mins early and my friend helped me untack since my pony’s fat and likes to suck in her breath and i had to hold my hand on my stumach to keep from hurling. so we put her blanket and muzzle on and i started walking to the field. usually, she gets all quick, alert and excited because she loves her new friends. but when she saw that i didn’t look too good, she walked so quietly with me. then she took a step sideways to give me enough room (and enough to catch me if i fell lol) and she turned her head to look at me the whole time. then she stopped at the gate and waited patiently without eating grass (which i sometimes have to tell her not to… usually she doesn’t go for it but when she’s really impatient she does) so then i opened the gate and put the lead rope under my hand since i had to keep hold of my stumach and pushed the gate open. then i walked her in quietly and we turned around. she stood there so quietly and then i gave her a pet and she gave me a hug! and she looked at me with the CUTEST look i’d ever seen. and then i closed the gate and let her off the lead. and usually she runs away but this time i walked back to the barn and she stayed at the gate looking at me until i made it to the steps where my friend was! it was the cutest thing i had ever seen….
sorry for writing so much

Name: Wranglers Waltz, a.k.a. Wrangler
Gender: Gelding
Breed: Quarter Horse Appendix
Color: dark bay, he’s registered as brown
Age: 13
Height: 17.2
Relationship: he’s mine (: I’ve owned him for 3 and a half years
About Wrangler:
He’s had a rough past, he was totally misunderstood and people thought he was plain crazy when he was really scared. He also has vision problems and can’t see real well. He trusts me though, and we work really well together. He’s been a pain in the butt, but I love him and wouldn’t trade him for anything. He needs me just as much as I need him. (:

And, 2nd place… (: lol
Name: B Grand Blue, a.k.a. Chisel
Gender: Gelding
Breed: solid Paint
Color: registered as black, I consider him dark bay
Age: 10
Height: 17
Relationship: he’s mine! I started leasing him 5 years ago, stopped when I got Wrangler and then bought him after that. I’ve owned him for 2 years.
About Chisel:
He can be ridden by anyone, but in order to do his best he needs his main rider. For basic stuff he’s a great lesson horse, but otherwise he’s a one-rider horse. He doesn’t perform well for a number of riders because he gets used to one style and sticks to it. He’s used to me riding him so even other advanced riders can’t get him to do things as well as I can. He’s a textbook all around horse, he can and has done it all, and he does everything really well. He’s an awesome horse with the best personality ever. (:
